If you’re looking to jazz up your traditional Pancake Day then a crepe cake is for you. Literally just a cake made of layered crepes, this recipe contains vanilla cream cheese filling, melted chocolate and fresh strawberries.
The great thing about crepe cakes is that if your crepes turn out less-than-perfect, it doesn’t make much of a difference because you can’t see them layered under all that deliciousness. We used our Gusta Giftset to help us make this beauty.
WARNING: this recipe contains melted chocolate and cream cheese. Only the most self-disciplined will be able to resist licking the bowl.
For the filling:
- 2-3 generous tbsp. soft cheese
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1½ tsp vanilla extract
For the topping:
We chose our favourite milk chocolate and fresh strawberries.
For the crepes:
Makes 12-15 crepes depending on thickness
- 4 eggs
- 500ml milk
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 200g plain flour, sieved
